Garick Appoints Myron E. Hirschman as General Manager of New Milford Farms Operation

(CLEVELAND, OH) Garick, a nationwide distributor and processor of sustainable natural resource products, is proud to announce the appointment of Myron E. Hirschman as Operations Manager of New Milford Farms. New Milford Farms is a composting facility in New Milford, Connecticut, that composts food and green waste into resalable amendments and sustainable lawn and garden products. Hirschman, a native of Iowa, has recently made the move to New Milford to manage the composting operation.Graduating from Iowa State University in 1976 with a Bachelors Degree in Agriculture, Hirschman has over 25 years’ experience in solid waste, composting, natural resources, business, agriculture, and management. In the 1990’s, he was President and Co-owner of Organic Technologies Corporation, a regional composting facility in central Iowa, that he conceived, designed, and developed. Most recently, Hirschman developed and managed a retail yard for Soil-Tek which marketed organic landscape and erosion control products for both retail and wholesale. Hirschman has won numerous awards and honors, including the “2003 Recycling Leadership Award for Outstanding Composting Operation” from the Recycling Alliance of Texas.
Hirschman said, “It’s an exciting opportunity. My passion is diverting organic resources from landfills, and at New Milford Farms I’ll be able to do just that.”
